Special Edition / Innovative electric thrusters combining performance and ease of integration

Hy Generation offers high-performance electric thruster technology, ideal for displacement boats. With integration solutions and modular equipment, RIM6 and RIM14 thrusters can equip a wide range of new or refit boats.

Robust, high-performance technology

Hy Generation's RIM electric thrusters are based on shaftless, permanent magnet technology. This offers a number of advantages. The motors, positioned as close as possible to the blades, have no gears or angular gearboxes, ensuring high efficiency of close to 90%, compared with conventional electric solutions of around 55%.

The difference and the advantage: greater autonomy, unrivalled performance and significant savings.

With an efficiency 3 to 4 times greater than that of a combustion engine of equal power, a 4-hour outing on the water costs just 2.50 euros for an electric recharge.

By limiting the number of mechanical parts to just thirty, compared with 300 for a conventional motor, the risk of breakage remains low and maintenance simplified. As a result, weight is also moderate, at just 15 kg for the RIM6 and 25 kg for the RIM14, making for easy handling.

The absence of a shaft increases robustness against floating debris, while preventing algae and aquatic weeds from blocking the propulsion system.

Another advantage is the 360° rotation, which facilitates even the most complex maneuvers, and hydrogeneration, an additional advantage included in Hy Generation thrusters.

Beyond the safety aspect, the nozzle is propulsive. By accelerating the flow, it contributes to the boat's thrust.

A modular offering that's easy to integrate

The RIM6 and RIM14 can be integrated right from the design stage on new boats, or retrofitted to existing boats. Hy Generation has developed a modular range of products to meet the needs of every situation. The thruster can be quickly integrated into a conventional transom, whether or not it is fitted with an engine chair. Depending on the configuration, the motor can be raised vertically or tilted.

Integration is simplified thanks to energy packs that complete the offer. Configured to meet users' autonomy and recharging requirements, batteries and chargers are pre-wired for easy installation.

A new model for boats up to 9 tons

Launched with the 6 kW RIM6, which replaces 20 hp thermal units, the range has now been extended to include a 14 kW model. Perfectly optimized for speeds of 7 to 8 knots, the RIM14 is designed for units weighing up to 9 tons.

Winner of numerous awards, innovation is at the heart of Hy Generation's business model and a clear differentiating factor. These assets have not escaped the notice of the PARIS 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games organizers, who have chosen to highlight Breton thrusters.

Hy Generation, which manufactures entirely in Vannes - Morbihan, is now expanding its network to serve customers more locally.
