Want to discover the competition sailing gear
Charles d'Oiron is a web developer by trade. In parallel to his work for large institutions, he develops mobile applications for causes he believes in, as he did with CollectforGood at the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine. The 35-year-old is also " very amateur windsurfer and Sunday sailor" . But passion and curiosity led him to mix work and leisure by launching Go Fast Sailing, as he explains: "It was born very simply. I wanted to get on an IMOCA boat one day, but it's not possible to do it simply. So I tried to find a virtuous solution."

Helping skippers to finance themselves
The young man imagines connecting skippers looking for funds and amateurs looking to sail on racing boats. The concept of the site is set, he explains in summary. "There are many skippers who need funds. At the same time as an outing, we finance a project, with 3 offers, in light sailing and board sports with coaching by a well-known sportsman in windfoil or wingfoil for example, a medium offer in Mini 6.50 or Class40 and a premium offer in IMOCA or Ultim which can allow to bring on board future potential sponsors" .

Regulatory locks
The first version of Go Fast Sailing is online. The young man says he consulted lawyers in a regulated field where the competence of an offshore racer does not necessarily imply that he has the right diploma to embark passengers for a fee. The launch is sure to cause a stir.
As it is, Go Fast Sailing offers 2 solutions. If the skipper has a professional license, he will issue an invoice for the service provided. Otherwise, the sailing is considered as a counterpart to a participative financing operation.
A few weeks after the launch, some first boats from professionally operated fleets, as well as Mini 6.50 are registered.
If the legality of this sailing go-fast is confirmed, no doubt it should accelerate quickly!
