Italian elegance and performance
The Grand Soleil 72 Performance, from the Del Pardo shipyard, has been designed by the great names of the Italian nautical industry, the Matteo Polli design office, already behind the Grand Soleil 44 Performance and Nauta Design. Behind this 22 m hull length yacht, the specifications are a boat with an Italian look, elegant and modern with a lot of comfort and ergonomics on and below deck.

V-shaped bow and flared stern
The technical elements have been carefully considered, so all the interior bulkheads have been individually weighed and optimized in terms of thickness to combine strength and lightness. The hull lines designed by Matteo Polli show a V-shaped bow and flare out at the stern to offer a wide stern. The wetted surface has been reduced to optimize the friction of the submerged sections when sailing and to gain stability, especially when the boat heels. This design should provide better performance in light wind conditions.

Stiffness and carbon reinforcement
The hull is manufactured by vacuum infusion using epoxy and vinylester resin. The most stressed sections of the hull, such as the longitudinal and transverse structures, are laminated with fiberglass and stiffened with carbon reinforcements to increase strength and rigidity. Concerning the appendages, the Grand Soleil 72 Performance is equipped with a rudder and an inverted T keel with a lead bulb for a standard draft of 3.70 m. The sail plan will offer a surface of 327 m2 upwind.

A large cockpit combining comfort and navigation
Outside, the large cockpit is dedicated to navigation on the stern with two steering wheel stations, near the winches. The front offers a huge square with double table, benches and sunbeds. The almost flush roof is enhanced with side windows for interior light.

A spacious interior for independent living
Below deck, the saloon appears spacious and bright thanks to the many windows. On the port side, the L-shaped sofa with dining table can accommodate up to 6 people with a view of the sea. To starboard, the U-shaped sofa extends to the chart table. The Performance version has a side galley positioned aft on the port side to maximize square footage. This is directly connected to the crew cabin located behind, and away from the guest and owner areas. In total, 3 cabins and their private bathroom can accommodate up to 6 guests. Large water and fuel tanks, 1000 L each, will ensure the autonomy during the cruise.

A long cruise version to come
The design team is currently finalizing the Long Cruise version, which will feature a raised and enlarged roof with a large 270° glass window. The dining area in the saloon will also be elevated to enjoy the view from a sitting and standing position.
