Stand out from the competition
The Milanese shipyard Zar Formenti has been producing RIBs since 1992. The builder quickly distinguished itself from the competition with its high-performance hulls, futuristic design with a focus on rigidity, quality construction, large living spaces and comfortable sailing. While the shipyard emphasizes its artisanal know-how, the materials and production processes have since evolved. Thus, the molds are made by digital machines from 3D images produced upstream. Sailing tests are carried out on the water before each production run to validate the latest improvements.
The hull and deck are blended into a single project that takes into account the design, weight distribution, but also the management of living spaces on board to create an agile and comfortable boat, whatever the sailing conditions.
3 production areas
The construction of the semi-rigid is carried out through three production areas, where the temperature and humidity level is constant and controlled in each area:
- Cutting, sanding and gluing of hypalon/neoprene fabrics (CSM/CR) for the realization of floats.
- The choice of fabrics for the upholstery, the on-board fittings and the various materials that are then sent to the shipyard.
- The final assembly is the result of artisanal know-how and rigorous management of the combination of man and technology.
4 quality criteria for the design of a Zar
Each Zar is designed and produced to high quality standards that take into account the exterior and interior appearance as well as the marine qualities of the boat:
- Navigation quality , services, comfort and safety
- Quality of life on board with plenty of seating, large storage compartments for equipment, sophisticated accessories and attention to detail
- Quality of construction with high-performance materials and careful workmanship for a long product life
- Design quality to combine aesthetics and functionality
A distinctive hull
unlike the competition, the floats of the Zar RIBs do not continue on the bow of the boat, which is entirely made of polyester. The dashboard has been moved back to the end of the floats to obtain a longer hull. The space on board is also greater, while the high V-shaped polyester bow ensures safe sailing and safe passage through the waves. The tunnelled hull, a Zar patent, further enhances the smooth feel and stability at high speeds, eliminating spray.
Floats exclusively in ORCA Hypalon
Zar works exclusively with the leader in neoprene Hypalon, Orca. This high density fabric is coated with CSM, polyethylene chloro sulfonated, and CR, polychloroprene. The floats are made with glued seams on the inside and outside, connected to the hull and lined.
Habitability
The absence of floats in the bow allows for a very large sunbathing area, a space that traditional RIBs do not have. The cockpit with its modular leaning-post offers a clear view and a large space to install all the navigation instruments. Its unique modularity, with the engine set back and raised benches above the floats, allows the creation of a sunbathing area without the need for additional cushions. Numerous lockers are distributed throughout the length of the boat to store all the equipment on board.
A Sport Luxury range
The newly created Sport Luxury Line incorporates the latest styling innovations, but above all a very sporty character. Since the launch of the Tender line, the models have evolved well with the Zar 49 SL, 59 SL, 79 SL, 85 SL and 95 S. Elegant, this range includes many standard features to make life on board easier and more comfortable.
