A digital offer
Directly from the Cap'tain Chercheur website, the boater comes to fill in his request. Supported by photos, they complete a form to describe the part they are having trouble finding. This form is stored in a database and is shared with all Cap'tain Chercheur partners.

If one of the partners has the part (end of series, second hand, destockageeuros), he can offer it to the yachtsman via a marketplace (poseidonshop.fr) by putting the product online. This market place then manages the transaction and the delivery.
In addition, this marketplace is open to partners who can offer products in stock to "empty the drawers" thus avoiding unnecessary downtime.
A distributor offer

The database that lists the requests highlights the recurring requests. For some of these, Cap'tain Chercheur will propose to distribute new parts, either by calling on an existing supplier, or by soliciting manufacturers in 3D printing or digital machining. Thus, Cap'tain Chercheur has become a distributor for the German brand Pfeiffer Marine, which offers adaptable solutions for old carts and rails. With the addition of 3D printing parts, it has created a "catalog of unobtainable parts" that is being added to as requests come in. Here you can already find protective covers for electronic devices, winch parts, sheeting carts, and porthole closures
Strong growth in demand
Today Cap'tain Chercheur offers all the parts of a boat, except for sails and mechanical parts (he is working on an offer in this sense for the next season). The requests do not cease growing and even if for the moment 30% of the requests are satisfied, this figure does not stop increasing.
Finding adaptable parts avoids changing an entire jib rail for example or replacing a window. This is a saving and a virtuous practice of reuse by avoiding replacement with new.
