A preserved navigation area
The city of l'Escala, on the Costa Brava, near the French-Spanish border, has many assets to attract French yachtsmen. Knowing how to play a favorable location, it attracts every year many pleasure boats to enjoy the Gulf of Roses and a preserved nature. "We are ideally located, in the center of the Costa Brava, quite close to France. We navigate in a beautiful natural protected area, with the natural parks of Montgri, Illes Medes in the south and the Cap Creus in the north. It is a privileged position, in the heart of a single large maritime area on both sides of Cape Creus" says Raimon Roca, director of the Club Nautic de l'Escala.

Services for boaters
Serving as a base for these explorations, the port of L'Escala, managed by the Club Nautic, offers many services to boaters. With a capacity of up to 20 meters in length and 900 moorings, it offers its clients all the necessary services: boat rental, restaurants, an important diving club, a sailing school and a sports area on land. "We welcome both French yachtsmen on a short stopover and clients from France who wish to leave their boat for the whole summer, with the Club Nautic de l'Escala as their base for the season. For boaters from Cap d'Agde and Port Leucate, the second night is free" explains the director of Club Nautic.

In addition to the services, French tourists can enjoy the old town of Empuries, nearby and the ancient ruins among the oldest in the region.
Nautical events
The Club Nautic de l'Escala organizes, thanks to its port infrastructure, various nautical events and regattas. In connection with the French port of Cap d'Agde, will take place for the 14th time the Escal'Agde regatta. Departing on July 15, 2021 from the French port, competitors will reach l'Escala to spend a day of relaxation, with the second leg returning to Cap d'Agde. The event should bring together about thirty boats. It is a representative example of the activities that punctuate the season of l'Escala, making it a stopover of choice for French boaters.
