The book that retraces the whole adventure of the Vendée Globe 2020-21

Heavily illustrated, punctuated with short sentences from the racers, this book (announced as the official book) of the Vendée Globe 2020-21 retraces day by day the facts of this single-handed round-the-world sailing race. This edition has been rich in events with an amazing final. This book allows you to relive it.

Antoine Grenapin has followed the entire Vendée Globe 2020-21 adventure on a daily basis. He was part of the team of editors who write up the facts and figures of the racers every day. From these interviews, he wrote a book, retracing day after day the anecdotes of this incredible race.

This edition of the Vendée Globe 202-21 was nothing like the others. There were 33 skippers at the start, including 6 women. The Covid came to play the spoilsport with a start without an audience. Then it was the fog that delayed the start. Despite this, the race proved to be exciting with many adventures.

We will remember Kévin Escoffier's shipwreck, the various retirements, including that of an outsider Alex Thomson, the fantastic comeback of the fleet on the leader Yannick Bestaven. And above all, the crazy finish where 7 racers crossed the line in 24 hours.

Published less than 4 months after the first arrivals, this book retraces this crazy adventure followed by many earthlings. It takes us back into the suspense that brightened up the winter of 2020. This compilation of short sentences from the vacations and photos taken on board tells the whole story of this race.

Of course, the readers of Bateaux.com will not discover any new hidden information - we already know the end of the story... - but to see all these documents assembled in one book gives us a new pleasure on the exploit of these competitors. A good read to make us wait 4 years before the next edition.
