A 100% custom aluminum yacht
Besides their common length, the two boats are totally different; the builder assures that this 115-foot unit will be among the fastest aluminum yachts in existence, capable of reaching 44 knots.
"The philosophy of the OTAM Aluminum Custom line is that it is completely custom designed and intended for customers who don't just want a boat - they want to build their ideal project." says OTAM's Sales Director, Matteo Belardinelli.
The manufacturer has chosen an aluminum construction for units over 30 m, this material allowing more flexibility for customization, whether in terms of exterior aesthetics, interior design or propulsion.
A sporty yacht
The design was entrusted to BG Design Firm, the same studio as for the new Otam 70 HT. The lines are inspired by the aeronautical and automotive worlds, in correlation with the brand's image. There are chrome ventilation grills in the transom and an air intake on the hardtop.
"The key words for this concept were: sportiness, purity, simplicity and modernity. To recall the brand, we integrated an aggressive bow and moved the roof as far back as possible to shift the volumes towards the stern, a characteristic of sporty boats. All the lines converge forward in a linear and almost horizontal way to give the shape tension, balance and dynamism" explains the studio.
A fast yacht
The deep-V hull was developed by Tagliavini Marine Design to provide excellent seakeeping, comfortable wave passage, and high speeds. Customers can choose between several engine options: 3 MTU 2600 hp coupled with a waterjet system for a maximum speed of 44 knots (32 knots cruising speed) or engines for a maximum speed of 35 knots (28 knots cruising speed).
A custom yacht
Because no molds are used in aluminum construction, customers can choose to customize their boat. There are different layout options for the aft cockpit, flybridge and the large foredeck (which can be equipped with folding bulwarks to enlarge the beam and increase the available space). The lower deck layout is also flexible by moving the bulkheads.
"A flybridge on a sporty boat may seem inappropriate, but the designers were able to find the right balance to maintain an aggressive profile. Looking at the boat in profile, the flybridge virtually disappears into the superstructure and becomes almost invisible." explains the construction site. There are many relaxation areas and a dining room in this space.
All exterior areas of the boat can be shaded by biminis with carbon fiber supports. One of the distinctive features of the boat is the bench seat integrated into the transom that extends over the swim platform.
The standard interior layout offers 4 cabins as well as a spacious lounge and dining area behind the wheelhouse on the main deck, where the large windows allow a panoramic view of the sea, even when seated.
On the lower deck, there are two guest cabins, a large VIP cabin and a transverse owner's cabin in the center of the boat, as well as a gym or spa and a pantry.
Between the owner's suite and the engine room is the crew area and the kitchen. The aft garage can accommodate a 4.20 m dinghy and a jet-ski. A gyroscopic stabilizer ensures comfort while sailing and at anchor.
