Ceranium, a Nautic Clean range to protect boats from various aggressions

Nautic Clean's Ceranium range, which is coming onto the market for the 2021 season, comes in three products numbered 20, 50 and 1000. It is not a range of cleaning products, but a protection for all the surfaces of a boat. It is therefore applied to clean boats that need to be protected from aggression during the season (UV, salt, sand).

We went to test the Ceranium range on a hull of Chris-Craft in Arcachon exposed at Evasion Pro Yachting, a hull which received a painting by the shipyard. A ceramic protection is applied on a degreased and clean support. The CNX 20, is a degreaser with a low alkaline content close to neutral PH (PH=9). This product cleans the boat before the application of CNX 1000. As it does not attack the surface, it can also maintain cleanliness once the CNX 1000 ceramic has been applied.

CNX 20 is used diluted in water. The hull is cleaned with a brush without rubbing strongly. Then rinse the surface with plenty of water. The CNX 20 is used like a classic soap.

Then, the CNX 1000 ceramic is applied on a dry surface. It is therefore necessary to wipe the hull after degreasing, or wait for it to dry. In this case, we will wipe off the unavoidable traces of limestone left by the drops of water.

For all the use of the Ceranium range, useless to protect the face with a mask or to wear gloves. These products are not aggressive, neither for the surfaces nor for the applicator.

The CNX 1000 offered in a sprayer is applied in small areas of about 1 m2. Immediately after spraying, without waiting for it to dry, spread the product using a clean, dry microfiber cloth. Keep your eyes tangent to the surface to see the streaks and make them disappear. For an even finer finish, we change the microfiber to ensure the finish.

For long lasting protection, apply several coats of CNX 1000 and wipe them off each time. Once well protected with CNX 1000, a hull can withstand the assaults of salt or pollution for one or two seasons. Thus protected, dirt cannot adhere to the surface.

This is clearly visible when rinsing the hull treated with CNX 1000, the water no longer adheres. The hull is dry instantly. The CNX 1000 ceramic works on all surfaces: gelcoat, stainless steel, varnish or even paint, such as the hood of an outboard motor, which is also protected.

In addition to the CNX 20 for cleaning and the CNX 1000 ceramic, Nauti Clean has developed the CNX 50. It is a routine maintenance product that works without water. The CNX 50 cleans and protects with a shiny ceramic in a single wipe. While the protection is not as long lasting as that achieved with CNX 1000, it has the advantage of being applied in a single product and without the need for water. No doubt it will be appreciated by exhibitors at trade shows who often have to erase visitors' fingerprints after they have passed through.
