Vendée globe 2020, a 52-minute film to discover live for free

The organisers of the La Rochelle International Adventure Film & Book Festival are organising a special Vendée Globe evening on Wednesday 7th April 2021. To be seen live and free of charge from 8:45 pm, with the presence of Charlie Dalin and Yannick Bestaven, respectively second and winner of this 2020 edition of the Vendée Globe.

As the Vendée Globe 2020/2021 came to an end at the beginning of 2021, the International Adventure Film & Book Festival of La Rochelle is organizing a special evening "Where does the race end, where does the adventure begin?" about the most famous single-handed race around the world.

On the program for the evening, discussions and interviews, but also a 52-minute film "The great Globe family" directed by Nicolas Raynaud. The director looks back at the history of the race thanks to four former winners - Alain Gautier, one of the pioneers of the Vendée Globe, Michel Desjoyeaux, the only two-time winner of the race, Vincent Riou, winner in 2005, and Armel le Cléach, record-holder of the event in 2016.

Charlie Dalin - who came first in the 2020/2021 edition and was consecrated second - and Yannick Bestaven, winner of the race, will be present and will discuss the theme of the evening: "What is the Vendée Globe in 2021? Why is it an adventure? Where does the race end, where does the adventure begin?"

The public will also be able to ask questions through a Facebook chat.

This evening will be broadcasted live for free on Vimeo (link at the bottom of the page) starting at 8:45 pm. Please note that the event will not be rebroadcast.
