It's not really a comic book, it's more like a picture book. Published for the start of the 2020 Vendée Globe, this comic book format replaces the previous edition published in 2016. It is the same authors who have taken up the same texts, but enriched with 40 new plates.

Already in 2016 we had already appreciated this collection which perfectly explains the race with many details. Here there is no question of making a sensational story about the feat of stitching up the tongue or climbing to the top of the mast, no the sailors tell about their fear, the cold, the hunger and explain how they manage this round the world race over nearly 3 months in regatta mode. This book will explain the winds, the strategic choices, the tactical moves?

With the publication of the first edition we had brought some criticisms which have all been corrected today. Starting with the cover, which this time makes a good reference to the IMOCA boats racing around the globe. In fact, it represents sailing boats mounted on their foils in the image of the boats of 2020. We also like the pages at the beginning, which feature anecdotes from the racers in the 2016 edition. Finally, a real encyclopaedia of the Vendée Globe, you cannot miss the notebook that closes this book with a portrait of the 33 skippers of the 2020 edition and the summary history of their 33 boats.
The Vendée Globe is always an opportunity for publishers to offer books. However, if we were to select just one for this 2020 edition, without a doubt, we would recommend Stories from the Vendée Globe?
