Tips to start fishing at sea, what equipment for lure fishing?


When you are lucky enough to have Matthieu Guennal and Fred Lavion as your fishing teacher, you open your ears wide and listen passionately to their explanations. Bateaux.com shares its experience with these two great names in sea fishing.

When you're sailing, sailing or motoring, there always comes a time when you want to fish. But what can you do when you are not fishing? How do you get the right equipment on board and how do you handle it?

We asked the lure maker Fiiish based in Finistère to explain us the basics of fishing. Matthieu Guennal, designer of the Fiiish lures, and Fred Lavion, fishing electronics specialist at Garmin, did us the honour of sharing their fishing trips.

During 2 days, they accompanied us on different fishing spots to show us the techniques and equipment to use. And strong of their explanations, in spite of our inculture in the field, we caught fish: sea bass, place, Saint-Pierre... came to bite our lures.

This first episode explains the equipment you need to have to practice lure fishing. In addition to the lure, Fred and Matthieu give us information about the braid, rod and reel that will allow us to animate them.

The choice of this equipment is decisive for good fishing. Indeed, the quality of the lure will make it attractive to the fish. You must have several of different sizes and colors to try different combinations. Follow the guide!
