Guirec sailed from the Arctic to the Antarctic with his small sailboat and his hen Monique. He recounts these 5 years of adventures in a documentary currently on tour in France.

You don't know the adventurer Guirec Soudée? This young man left when he was just 20 years old without a penny in his pocket with the idea of travelling on his boat Yvinnec. 5 years later he came back having wintered in Greenland, passed the North-West passage and went all the way down south to Antarctica before returning to Brittany. A tour of the American continent carried out with great humility and above all accompanied by a hen nicknamed Monique.

The adventures of this incredible sailor are recounted in several books ( including one for children ) and are now the subject of a documentary: "From the North Pole to the South Pole". This 60-minute film (directed by Guirec and Estelle Gilles) won an award at the La Rochelle International Adventure Film Festival in November 2019. It received the Grand Prix du Public, as well as the Ushuaia TV prize.

The film concentrates the 5 years of travel where Guirec confides in his camera as if it were a logbook and one can admire breathtaking aerial images with the help of a drone. A tour in France and Belgium, already started in Brittany and on the Atlantic coast since the beginning of 2020, lands in Paris (at the Grand Rex) on March 31, 2020 before leaving for the major French cities.

The few images (mainly of Greenland) that have filtered through show breathtaking landscapes and a communicative carefree Guirec that makes you want to follow him in his adventures. A documentary to discover without moderation.
