Composite propellers at ATMB

The new range of composite propellers distributed by ATMB is designed for sailboats, more specifically for racers looking to save weight and limit maintenance.

ATMB, which has been distributing Flexofold propellers for 15 years, has just added a new brand to its catalogue for France. It is an all-composite propeller.

Not using bronze for its propeller offers several advantages. In composite, the propeller is not likely to encounter electrolysis phenomena. In case of problems, the blades are interchangeable and above all repairable with epoxy putty.

These propellers, which only fit on Saildrive boats, are designed for regatta sailors. Indeed, they will appreciate the duckbill closure with the joined blades. Compared to a bronze model, they are also much lighter (between 2 to 3 times lighter than a bronze propeller of the same size).

These propellers require no maintenance. Their opening is instantaneous in both directions of rotation with a shock absorber in abutment to limit shocks.

Available in many sizes for engines ranging from 10 to 75 hp, these propellers are particularly strong. Without maintenance or antifouling, they will not risk corrosion without even needing an anode.

On the price side, these propellers are offered at the same price as a bronze model.
