Located in Thiers, in the cradle of French cutlery, blacksmith Wichard offers a model of security knife. It is no longer a knife that you carry with you, but rather a knife that remains at a position fixed on the boat.
Navigation modes are changing. The supports are faster and faster with an increase in risk. And even if today it is necessary to be able to quickly cut off a sheet on a catamaran that capsizes or a longe to free a drowning crew member, the knife has always had its role as a safety equipment on board.

A model designed by the practitioners
To design his knife, Wichard relied on the practitioners (mainly runners) and safety professionals (sea rescue, firefighter...). Thus was born this knife with its fixed blade and its rigid case.

The case is secured so that the knife cannot inadvertently come out alone. You have to pull the trigger under the handle (the black part) to be able to eject the knife. For its fixing, the case has 4 loops which can be adapted in many situations: helm column, boom boom boom, trampoline... The rear face is deliberately flat to allow this case to be glued to a cockpit wall for example.

If the handle of the knife is made of yellow polyurethane (PU), the blade is made of thick (3 mm) and very sharp stainless steel. It is a special stainless steel that holds the sharpening and does not fear rust (stainless steel N680 59 HRC).
