Web series / Under the Pole III: Ballast installation and capsule tests

In this 2nd episode of Under The Pole III, the team is now working on the installation of ballasts on the chosen site in the heart of Moorea lagoon, French Polynesia.

After having trained in the handling and installation of the ballasts, in the first episode, Emmanuelle Périé-Bardout and Ghislain Bardout continue the procedure to install the ballasts at the bottom of the water, in this garden that will be theirs, for the coming months.

After the fixing of the two weights that will be used to keep the Capsule at the bottom of the water, it is now precisely time to prepare it. The domes are assembled before checking for leaks using hydraulic tests. And the least we can say is that it's not all repos?!

In parallel, the electronics and the atmosphere control system must be checked and installed. An equipment developed in-house by Sylvain Pujolle in charge of the development of the Capsule. To breathe underwater, divers will live in a mixture of oxygen and helium, while extractors will absorb the spattered CO2. In total, 3 oxygen sensors will be used to recycle the air from the Capsule.

Finally, it is time for the layout, more than spartan with benches that act as beds and a camera at the bottom of the dome that will film underwater life from the two domes
