Sherpa XL, the modern 24 m eco-friendly modern yacht

The Arcadia Sherpa XL

In September 2019, the Italian manufacturer Arcadia Yachts will unveil the second model in its Sherpa range. The Sherpa XL with a length of 24 m offers a living area of 220 m2. It incorporates the brand's main characteristics, namely very large spaces open to the outside, custom design and renewable solutions.

Two ranges at Arcadia

Ten years ago, the Italian manufacturer Arcadia Yachts launched the first A85, a 25.90 m superyacht with very modern lines. Since 2017, the Italian has been rethinking the design of his boats by prioritizing the needs and desires of the owner.

Today, the most characteristic range of the yard is the A range, composed of 5 models: A85, A85s, A100, A105 and A115. A second range has been added to the range with the Sherpa - the first model and name of the range. The 2nd model, the Sherpa XL, will be presented at the beginning of the 2019 school year.

220 m2 of living space

This 24 m model has all the features of the range, but on a larger scale. The spaces on board fully exploit the length of the hull, but also the master mate with a width of almost 7 m, offering a total area of 220 m2 of living space, both inside and outside.

The Sherpa XL concept was developed by the Milanese Hot Lab agency, which had already worked with Arcadia Yachts on the interior of the A105. It is articulated at the level of the layout of the bridges, which are connected via a central staircase block. This makes it possible to obtain large spaces and to play on volumes, even with a limited height.

Sea view

One of the characteristics of Arcadia yachts is their proximity to the marine environment. Thus, the cockpit is directly connected to the rear platform via a few steps. In total, almost 65 m2 of outdoor space is available at any time of the day at the back of the boat. A lateral garage, located in front of the engine room, houses a 4 m long annex, which frees up the rear platform.

The cockpit bulwarks are equipped with a design opening allowing guests to enjoy the panorama, from the couches or sitting around the table for 8 to 10 guests. The 34 m2 skylounge, fully glazed at the front, also provides a link between the outside and the inside. The sliding windows from top to bottom also allow you to enjoy the sea air and replace the use of air conditioning.

On the upper deck, the 35 m2 sunlounge is equipped with a bar area. Here, there is no wheelhouse, but a completely open bridge with furniture that can be moved at will.

Three or four cabins

Inside, the furniture is sophisticated and the style sober and refined. The available space is optimised to the maximum to offer the greatest comfort on board. Depending on the owners' desires, the Sherpa XL is available in four or three cabins.

In the first case, the independent kitchen is located in the skylounge. In the three-cabin version, it is located on the lower deck. It links the crew quarters, which can accommodate up to 3 members, with the guest area.

The owner's cabin has an area of more than 22 m2 that houses the bathroom, without any partition walls. The space is thus larger. The large windows make the place very bright.

Outstanding autonomy

The yard announces a remarkable autonomy: at 12 knots, the Sherpa XL can sail up to 1000 miles, with a consumption almost 30% lower than that of yachts in its category and that of 85-90 feet. In addition, the estimated range climbs to over 1500 miles while maintaining a speed of 10 knots.

To minimize the impact on the environment, the Sherpa XL is equipped with solar panels - a distinctive feature of Arcadia Yachts - that guarantee nearly 3 kW of solar energy (sufficient to supply the main hotel services on board. In the same vein, the yacht is equipped with low consumption devices as well as LED light.
