An electric furler at Profurl

Based on its experience with electric genoa furling systems released for the 2018 season, Profurl is coming this year 2019 with electric furlers. The NEXe is a furler for the gennaker, Code 0 or asymmetric spinnaker.

More and more sailboats are equipped with flying sails (not endured) which are often used in light winds to offer a wider combination of canvas and help the genoa which often struggles in light winds.

For sails up to 65 feet

But as sailboats grew and the sail became more and more assisted, the need for electric furlers became apparent for sailboats above 45 feet. Profurl responds with 2 models: the NEXe 5.0 and 8.0. The small model for sails up to 200 m2 and the largest model for sails up to 250 m2 (boats up to 65 feet).

Wrap the gennak with a remote control!

No more endless looping around the furler's galette. It is simply connected to the on-board power grid. It can be operated with a remote control. Furling and unfurling the sail is done simply by using a remote control to stop the manoeuvre immediately. The self-locking mechanism prevents the sail from unrolling accidentally.

40 seconds to drive

The electric motor integrated in the waterproof housing has a gearbox to optimize the torque/speed ratio. The manufacturer announces less than 40 seconds to furl a downwind sail.

Available early 2019

The case has been designed to be robust. Waterproof, it is also equipped with a rubber bumper at the back of the case to protect it from shocks, very useful when lifting or lowering. The fixing is done under the motor by a standard stainless steel carabiner, the same as for the fixing of the sail above. The NEXe is equipped with a handle at the front, it still weighs 11.6 kg.

This product will be available during the 1st quarter of 2019 from 7200 ? including VAT.
