A startup with a passion for boats
The idea of Jestockemonbateau.fr was born in the head of the young entrepreneur Brice Guintrand from Marseille. Already familiar with the world of start-ups after having set up two in the field of vacation rentals and marketing, he is passionate about boats. When he acquired a RIB, he experienced the difficulty of storing it. " There is a real problem of storage. Even the dry ports are saturated. Moreover, we want to have the boat close to our home to be able to work on it during the weekend. "explains Brice Guintrand. So he joined forces with his friend Marine Bagnaud, previously artistic director in Corsica, to create Jestockemonbateau.fr, a collaborative boat storage solution.

Linking boats to available storage facilities
To conceive Jestockemonbateau.fr, Marine Bagnaud and Brice Guintrand were inspired by the collaborative economy websites that work, like Blablacar and AirBnB. The principle is simple: a boat owner, private individual or professional, offers a space available for the storage of a boat, specifying the characteristics. He can thus give the dimensions, the distance to the launching place, indicate if the land is closed, if the space is covered, if there is a video surveillance,... It provides photos. The software calculates a recommended price according to the information. The user can then modify it. In the same way, the skipper, owner of the boat, fills in his card. The site and its search engine put members in contact with each other and is paid by a commission on the transaction. The main target is boats under 5 m.
Options and flexibility for the boater
The company is considering various options. Jestockemonbateau.fr is currently in discussion with insurances to propose a coverage of the stored boat. A video-surveillance subscription will also be proposed via a camera connected in 4G to the owner's smartphone, provided that the stocker accepts the principle. Finally, the owner will be able to offer his services for launching the boat if he has a trailer license and a hitch.
The length of storage and number of launches will depend on the needs of the users. " You can reserve for a month, 3 days or a season. We can also store the empty trailer. It's up to the users to agree on this. "explains Brice Guintrand.
Services for boating professionals
The site will also be accessible to professionals, through a dedicated space that will allow the management of several places. Preferential offers are being studied and a system of highlighting will be put in place once the number of available storage spaces is sufficiently large.
Launching for the 2019 nautical season
Jestockemonbateau.fr should be operational for the 2019 boating season. The company is currently raising 300 keuros. The first shareholders have invested and the technical development is engaged.
