Choose the International Sailor of the Year 2018

The World Sailing has just revealed the names of the 11 sailors competing for the prestigious 2018 International Sailor of the Year title, including two Frenchmen, Marie Riou and Charles Caudrelier for their victory in the 2017/2018 Volvo Ocean Race, with Dongfeng Race Team.

The World Sailing Federation - in collaboration with Rolex - have announced the list of nominees for the prestigious Rolex World Sailor of the Year 2018 Award. They are 11 sailors chosen to represent the best of 2018: kiteboarders, offshore racers and Olympic class specialists. Among them are 4 women and 5 men, including 2 French, Charles Caudrelier and Marie Riou.

The public is invited to vote

The public is invited to vote to choose the future International Sailor of the Year 2018, until 15 October 2018. Their votes will account for 30% of the overall vote while the remaining 70% will come from the votes of World Sailing members.

The winner will be announced on October 30, 2018 at the World Sailing Awards ceremony in Sarasota, Florida, USA. Each winner will receive a globe-shaped trophy in marble and silver, crowned with five silver spinnakers representing the continents and a Rolex clock.
