The most exceptional superyachts of the Monaco Yacht Show

Dar, designed by Oceanco

As a prelude to the opening of the Monaco Yacht Show (26-29 September 2018), the official inauguration gala of the Monaco Yacht Show 2018 was held. A private event bringing together 400 carefully selected guests during which the 5th edition of the MYS Superyacht Awards, the official superyachting awards ceremony of the Monaco Yacht Show, was held. Not four, but three superyachts were awarded, including Oceanco's DAR, which won two prestigious awards.

Three superyachts were awarded by an eclectic jury composed of journalists specialized in yachting in the following 4 fields:

The MYS/Rina Award

It rewards the boat built in accordance with the environmental specifications drawn up by the Italian maritime classification company RINA.

Winner 2018 SOLO 71.9 m motoryacht, built in 2018 and built by Tankoa Yachts)

Solo was designed by Francesco Paszkowski, and is very reminiscent of the 69 metre superyacht Suerte. It is 3 m longer and has a volume of about 1,600 gross tons. But it stands out for its "green" technologies such as catalytic exhausts for a substantial reduction in emissions, significant volume gains, odourless and smoke-free outdoor terraces, a large winter garden, a large rear platform with a 6-metre glass pool and a very wide upper deck with an oversized panoramic lounge. The longer waterline also allows a speed of more than 17 knots.

The MYS Award for the best yacht interior design

It rewards innovative and sophisticated interiors.

Winner 2018 ILLUSION 88.5 m motoracht launched in 2018 and built by Tankoa Yachts)

Illusion was designed by Pride Mega Yacht and has an impressive volume of 3642 gross tons, making it the largest yacht ever built in Asia. With a huge interior space, customers can choose from 4 lounges, 2 dining rooms or a large spa on the lower deck.

The MYS Award for the best yacht exterior design

It rewards the yacht whose architecture and exterior lines are considered to be the most innovative and elegant.

Winner RAF motoryacht, 90 m motoryacht, released in 2018 and built by Oceanco

The MYS Prize for the best launch

It rewards the best superyacht of the year in terms of aesthetics, performance, environmental responsibility and quality of interior and exterior design.

Winner RAF motoryacht, 90 m motoryacht, released in 2018 and built by Oceanco

DAR has a very modern exterior style designed by DeBasto Design and a sophisticated interior design by Nuvolari Lenard. It reflects the latest advances in glass technology with a completely finished superstructure made of reflective glass. Its design has been designed to maximize outdoor living opportunities and to have direct contact with the marine environment. Despite its high volume, DeBasto has ensured that the profile remains long, sporty and slim without the heavy superstructure that characterizes so many very large superyachts.
