Challenge for disabled kitesurfers: Step 1 validated in 5 hours!

Kitesurfing Challenge

Chris Ballois has embarked on a new Kite Challenge, this time in stages and in pairs. He just took up his first challenge on Thursday, June 14, by connecting Le Conquet to Roscoff in 5 hours!

Chris Ballois was born without a left forearm, which did not prevent him from having a sporting career or from being a address challenges . The world record holder for speed in handisport sailing has set himself a new challenge in kitesurfing. Three stages carried out in one go, with the force of a single arm, but this time as a duo.

It is thus with Arnaud Troalen (his partner on this first stage) that he started from the beach of kerhornou at 2 km in the north of Le Conquet at 08 hours 15 this Thursday June 14, 2018 to join Roscoff. After a windy first part, with a low visibility of the current and the outcropping rocks, the wind dropped suddenly after Plouescat at 20 km from Roscoff.

So the crew lost an hour and spent a lot of energy on this end of the course. Not to mention the leak of Chris' camel bag, preventing him from drinking on these 65 miles (120 km) of kite.

But in the end, they were able to arrive at their destination the same day at 1.15 pm at the Roscoff pier after 5 hours of sailing.
