Comfort on board and good seaworthiness
In terms of deck layout, the console has been a little advanced compared to other semi-rigid boats, and has a high windshield to protect itself when sailing. It switches to "road" mode to limit aerodynamic drag and receives a bolster for 1 person.
At the front, you can sit on the anchor locker and at the rear, you will find in the final version a large trunk that will close the cockpit with 2 designer seats. On the other hand, it is possible to use the rigid structure of the bridge which comes on the back of the sails and serves as a seat, well framed by the roll bar. The floats are made of neoprene hypalon and the cover that covers the aluminium landing gear.
The Wetton 56 can accommodate 6 people on board and is approved in category C. It has a hull with a pronounced V, and is, according to the yard, very stable, with good grip in curves. On the design side - made by a designer who usually works on Falcon jets - the design is rather pretty, the lines are elegant and modern.
In terms of motorization, the site offers 3 possibilities: 100, 115, 115, 115 XS CH Mercury. With a 100 HP, the boat has reached a speed of 30 knots and should probably reach 40 knots with a larger engine.
The future?
The Wetton56 presented at La Rochelle with a length of 5.50 m, motorized and fully equipped reaches about 900 kg. A slight overweight compared to the competition. But the yard is already working on a future range and in particular a lighter sports version, with a little less equipment and under a weight of 750 kg, which will avoid the trailer's braking system (mandatory above 750 kg). A project that should see the light of day in early 2019. By baking, a longer version - 6 to 6.50 m - should also be available.
