Special Edition / Perfection Pro the two-component lacquer easy to apply

Previously reserved for professional applicators, two-component polyurethane paint is now open to private boaters. International has released the Perfection Pro, a paint that offers all the advantages of two-component polyurethane paint without the disadvantages for application.

Two-component polyurethane paint is known for its robustness and especially the mirror effect it provides. It is often used for dead artwork on boats (the hull above the water surface). But if the rendering is particularly appreciated, its application requires a perfect mastery of the gun, for a result almost impossible with a simple roller.

Things change with the arrival of Perfection Pro, a lacquer that exists in 2 versions: a base for spray application and another for roller and brush. From now on, individuals will have access to the same glossy finish without having to use a spray gun.

A mirror effect for roller application

Perfection Pro lacquer is available for spray or roller application (specify at time of purchase). Even when applied with a brush or roller, the result is very smooth and the mirror effect as good as with a spray gun. The application is done with a foam roller without pulling the paint too much. You first work horizontally and then vertically. Less than a quarter of an hour after application, the product begins to stretch and you can see it. With the Perfection Pro, there is no need to use a bevelled brush or a Spalter (a bristle brush with very tight bristles).

A very wide range of colours available

The Perfection Pro is available in almost all RAL colours, i.e. approx. 180 colours! Simply ask your distributor for the RAL code and receive the Perfection Pro in the correct shade. The manufacture of the tint is done at one of the distributors of the International brand equipped and will be delivered to your store within 24 to 48 hours (depending on the availability of the bases to be tinted).

For all media

Perfection Pro is a two-component polyurethane lacquer. It therefore requires a rigid support (the paint is not flexible). It can therefore be applied without worry on polyester hulls (perfect for redoing an aged gelcoat), on steel, aluminium or even plywood. A suitable primer is applied beforehand.

Quick overlay

The time between 2 coats is 6 hours minimum. Provided that you choose the right day, particularly in terms of humidity, it is possible to paint the 2 layers of a boat's dead artwork in the same day. Like all two-component paints, Perfection Pro does not like humidity during its drying phase. Drying with high humidity should be avoided.

An easy mix

Perfection Pro is a two-component paint with a mixing ratio of 2:1 (2 parts base to 1 part hardener). We speak here of volume and not weight, which avoids the use of a scale to make the mixtures. A simple graduated jar is enough to avoid making mistakes. The life of the product once mixed is 4 hours at 23°C (3 hours at 35°C) which leaves plenty of time to apply it without stress if a large quantity has been mixed.
