Setting out from Lorient on 2nd February 2018, Armel le Cléach' and his crew reached Guadeloupe in just over 6 days. An intense training before the first race of the season, Nice Ultimed, but above all a rehearsal before the Route du Rhum, which will take place in 8 months.

Armel le Cléac'h and his 5 crew members left Lorient on Friday, February 2 with the aim of reaching Guadeloupe. Arrived this Thursday evening, February 8 at the pontoon of the marina bas du Fort, after a little more than 6 days, the Maxi Banque Populaire IX will have tasted its first transatlantic race.

"T t went well, we had good conditions" said the skipper a few hours before his arrival in Guadeloupe. " We learned a lot, especially about the boat's potential in different sea conditions. We were quick and everyone found their feet quickly." The multihull has thus met the expectations of its skipper and crew. A good rehearsal before Nice Ultimed, the race reserved for Ultimates that will start on April 24 from Marseille and the Route du Rhum, which will take place in November 2018.

Armel le Cléac'h was thus able to gauge the behavior of his maxi-trimaran, in the trade winds, in good conditions. Wind and sea conditions which have enabled him to gain experience.

" We went fast, with good feelings and nice weather when we arrived in the West Indies. We're happy to find the sun and warmth!" he confided when he arrived in the canal.

From now on, the team will establish a small check-up for a few days in Pointe-à-Pitre to debrief with the whole team. The return to Lorient will be done by ferry in two weeks.
