The Düsseldorf Boat Show closes its doors this Sunday, January 28, 2018 after 8 opening days. This year again the German "fair" was a real success, with many visitors, many exhibitors, but above all many sailing boats on display. In halls 15 to 17, this is what you should not miss on the sailing side. Novelties, world premieres, distinctive designs Here is the selection from Bateaux.com.

Astus 20.5

This new trimaran of 7 m in length (overall length) designed once again by VPLP takes up the characteristics of the Astus 16.5. Simple, modern and fast, it retains its telescopic link arms, allowing it to be transportable. Its attributes: width of 4.50 m, floats of more than 900 litres, slender rigging and large cabin.

Bavaria C45, C50 and C65

Bavaria develops its C range by launching 3 new models - the C45, C50 and C65 - which all have the same features: a tender garage, a cockpit bar and separate layouts with different areas (sunbathing, navigation, cockpit...). All are available in 3 versions: charter (Holiday), owner comfort (Style) and owner performance (Ambition).

Domani

Domani is a Belgian shipyard freshly arrived in the world of sailing with an elegant 30-foot daysailer with a very large sunbathing area at the stern. Beneath its false Italian airs is in fact a dayboat built in Holland and assembled in Belgium. The idea was to create a high performance boat (carbon mast, carbon bar) but elegant and above all comfortable. A successful gamble with clean lines and a minimalist design.

Hanse 348

The 348 has to be fast but easy to handle and has a rig and sail plan developed for this purpose. The Easy Sailing concept with a self-tacking jib and manoeuvring system at the helm station, at the rear of the cockpit, for sailing with a reduced crew or alone, is found on board, with a well-protected cockpit, a transom that becomes a bathing platform, 2 or 3 cabins, large saloons, kitchen and bathroom are the elements that make up the layout.

J 121

The J 121 is clearly a performance boat. This 5.2 ton 40-footer was produced in the USA but will clearly find its place in the French market. It is positioned as a sports boat dedicated to short-handed regattas. Its layouts are in line with its programme: simple and seaworthy. Two 400 L ballast tanks, equivalent to 5 crew members, allow the boat to swing when rappelling.

LA 28

For 4 years, the shipyard LA Yacht- & Bootsbau GmbH has been exhibiting a magnificent 8.50 m wooden daysailer designed by Martin Menzner of Berckemeyer Yacht Design. Designed with precious woods (Khaya, cedar), this elegant sailboat has modern lines combined with a classic design. On the hull, no opening, no portholes... Available in fixed or lifting keel, she has a carbon rigging (mast and boom).

Pilot Saloon 42

Wauquiez is looking to rejuvenate and modernise its image with the Pilot Saloon 42: aggressive bow, younger look, natural chine, sail-drive? The idea is to break this image of the boat "high on the water" which stuck to the skin of the shipyard in the north of France. While keeping the Pilot Saloon's spirit of being outside while being inside. Thus, the raised saloon allows an unobstructed view through the large hull portholes.

SR 21

The RS 21 is a collective and sporting keelboat designed to appeal to Federations and clubs. With a lifting keel (on a stem) whose ballast represents 50% of the boat's weight, this keelboat should offer great sensations to its crew with scheduled starts while maintaining good stability. It will be suitable for discovering sailing, as well as for coastal cruising, match-racing or fleet sailing.

Saffier Se 37 Lounge

The Se 37 Lounge is the largest model of the Dutch shipyard. This 12 m daysailer has an elegant design, with simple and clean lines. The cockpit is spacious and free from any manoeuvres thanks to the two steering wheels installed at the bow. The idea is to offer a large relaxation area to rest, enjoy a moment at anchor or while sailing. Below deck, the cabin does not have a very high headroom, but it is sufficient for a day at sea.

Tricat 20

The Tricat 20 is a 20-foot folding trimaran for short cruises and coastal raids. The design is identical to the floats of the Tricat 30 with a lot of volume forward and on deck with a positive shearing to increase the bow height. The Tricat 20 has the same arms as the 25 Evolution with this "crossover" shape so that they don't hit the sea. Inside, there is a berth for 2 adults while the bench seats can accommodate 2 children.

The X4 9

After the X4 launched in Cannes in 2017, X-Yachts continues to develop its range with the X4 9. After the XP range with its very simple design, the Danish shipyard is readjusting its aesthetic line between the Nordic tradition of the Xs (especially for the interior design) and the high-performance luxury cruiser. The Italian influence can be felt in the exterior design with a very taut roof that is as discreet as it is low.
