Princess 35 M © Bateaux.com

Princess Yachts Anglo-Saxon shipyard known for its motorboats exhibited at the Düsseldorf Boat Show the biggest star of the show, the Princess 35 M. A 35.15m superyacht that we had the opportunity to visit. Bateaux.com takes you on a guided tour of the biggest yacht of the Boot Düsseldorf! Find the complete album at the bottom of the page.

Proudly enthroned in Hall 6 of Boot Düsseldorf, the Princess 35 M is impressive seen from the ground... Its white bow overhangs us, its balconies open into the bulwarks attract us and its imposing silhouette commands respect... We really feel very small next to this monster out of water... 35,15 m long, 135 tons, 200 m of anchor chain, 2 MTU 16 V 2000 M96L (2x2636 mph) engines, 16 million euros... Its characteristics are just as impressive..

We climb the bathing platform and climb a few steps to get into the cockpit where Francisco, the first mate, is waiting for us. He's the one who takes care of the boat all year round and he knows every nook and cranny of it. Our visit begins in the lounge/dining room where everything is tastefully decorated. " The owner chose the decoration, it's a semi-custom yacht." explains Francisco. On each side, balconies (part of the bulwarks) are spread out and allow us to admire the view.

Even if on the outside, the volume of the boat seems incredible, on the inside, you don't feel this feeling of gigantism so much. The layout is luxurious, but without ostentation. Above all, it is very comfortable (the carpets in the bedrooms are lined with foam loops, as is the carpet in the saloon) and with beautiful materials (marble and woodwork).

The owner - originally from South America - had his yacht - El Guajiro built to welcome his family on board from time to time during the year. The boat is attached to the Mallorca marina and sailed for the first time 16 months ago, sailing from England to Spain. Last year it sailed for 10 days at Easter and 3 weeks during the summer.

On board, there are 5 crew members: the captain, the first mate, 2 hostesses and a chef. The crew is reduced to 2 in winter (captain and chief mate). And the boat can accommodate 10 guests on board. There are cameras all over the boat to help the crew members manoeuvre (1 person forward and 2 at the stern), a hydraulic power plant for the bow thrusters (one at the bow and one at the stern), two 80 kilowatt generators, two hydraulic systems for driving the boat, a watermaker that produces 200 L of water per hour, air conditioning and 2 stabilizers. Stabilizers that do their job so well that once in the wheelhouse, only slight shaking can shake a glass on the table. In the event of problems, a manual system allows this 248 GT monster to be "steered" manually.

We also note the rails installed on the superstructures so that Francisco can clean the glazing suspended in the void several meters above the ground

On the main deck, the rooms are in a row and richly decorated. From the cockpit, you reach a large lounge with dining room, then the visit continues with the owner's cabin, its dressing rooms, its office and its large bathroom with jet shower, bathtub, but especially its heated floor!

Our visit continues on the lower deck with its 3 guest cabins (or 4 according to the owner's wishes). A bulkhead separates one of the cabins from the adjoining saloon (and the latter becomes a sleeping area). Here, each cabin has its own bathroom with a large jet shower.

Continuing on, we reach the beautiful fully equipped kitchen, next to the crew quarters. Here the crew members have a saloon, two cabins with bunk beds, a bathroom with shower and a double cabin for the owner.

We then continue to the upper deck - where the wheelhouse with its four enormous screens is located. This is the favourite place for the captain and his first mate, the only masters on board. At the bow, the deck hosts a very large lounge with its comfortable sunbathing area, all protected by a large bimini and at the bow, there is the access to the anchor - whose chain is 200 m long! Unbelievable!

The highlight of the Princess 35 M is her large flybridge with bar (grill), dining room with marble table, lounge with armchairs and sofas, jacuzzi and sun loungers ..

We end our tour with the engine rooms and the garage, which we access from the port side passageway on the main deck. The engine hold is impressive! With its 2x2636 mph, the Princess 35 M can reach a speed of 22 knots with a fuel consumption of 950 l/h. Its cruising speed is around 10 knots (for a consumption of 240 l/h), a speed that suits the owner much better, as Francisco explains to us. With all the tanks full (18,000 l of fuel, 3,250 l of water, 410 l of hot water), the Princess 35 M can navigate 625 miles at a speed of 10 knots..

The garage is just as impressive and houses a Willimas Jet Tender 5.6, a wakeboard, 2 seabobs, skis and 2 paddles.
