Fanale Marine is a brand new Corsica semi-rigid launched by the company U Fanale, whose headquarters is in Pietrosella (South Corsica). Launched in July 2017, thanks to a partnership with Italian manufacturers, the range includes 5 models from 5.70 to 8.20 m. The boats are named after the emblematic birds of the beauty island. They are intended for Mediterranean pleasure boating. But behind this brand is also hidden an industrial project whose objective is that eventually, the entire production chain is repatriated to Corsica.

The first industrial nautical project in Corsica

Fanale Marine is the dream of three partners to create their own Corsican semi-rigid brand. At the time, they were all three distributors in France of different brands of boats (Selva, 3D Tender, Kardis and Domina), through the company U Fanale, and enjoyed 10 years of experience.

"We tried to make the brands evolve thanks to our condensed experience and customer feedback, but the projects were not always very reactive and innovative. So we wanted to create our boat brand with an industrialization in Corsica. The beauty island has 1000 km of coastline and many nautical services. It is also a privileged tourist destination for pleasure boating" explains Catherine Ghilain, one of the three partners.

In July 2018, Fanale Marine, a brand of semi-rigid hypalon, will be on the market "This is the first industrial nautical project in Corsica." The company started with the help of ADEC, the regional representation of the Fédération des Industries Nautiques and the Chambre des Métiers de Corse. And the first Sun Ship dealers in Porto-Vecchio, Sud Plaisance in Pietrosella and Marine Services in Saint-Tropez quickly arrived in the adventure.

For the moment, the tyres are being built in partnership with an Italian yard, but the aim is to bring production back to the island "In 2018, we will assemble the boats in Corsica and hope to bring the entire production entity back here."

Project History

  • 2007 ILS: creation by Pierre-André Paoli, manager of U Fanale, of the company ILS, whose activity is the rental of boats on the Isolella peninsula.
  • 2009 start of the yacht sales activity (Selva, 3D Tender, Kardis, Domino)
  • 2013 creation of the company U Fanale dedicated to the sale of boats and the activity of"training boat"
  • 2016 creation of the Fanale Marine brand
  • 2017 Inauguration and launch of the Fanale Marine prototypes and creation of the first dealer network.

A real industrial project

The Fanale Marine project is not only to launch a brand, but to develop a long-term industrial project, which is structured around 3 phases. The first consists in learning and transferring skills and know-how in hull and float construction. For the moment, the first generation of the range is built by Italian partners, but the aim is to repatriate the entire production line to Corsica:

  • Design of the ship and its fittings;
  • Lamination, polyester and hull work;
  • Hypalon work and assembly of floats ;
  • Realization of the saddlery and the solar protections

In a second stage, the company wishes - with the help of its partners and island training centres - to internalise production and develop the nautical sector's professions.

Finally, phase 3 will consist in controlling the production chain to make the boats evolve and graft technological evolutions (navigation aid, specific applications for the discovery of Corsica and the Mediterranean).

A range of 5 typical pleasure models

To highlight the maritime heritage and Corsican culture, the range - composed of 5 models in hypalon - includes the names of the emblematic birds of Corsica and offers units intended for pleasure - large chests and large sunbathing areas - from 5.70 to 8.20 m.
