Wally embarks on a mega-yacht of exploration

The exploration yacht by Wally

The Wally Yacht shipyard, based in Monaco, has just presented its new Explorer Yacht project. Designed in partnership with the German shipyard Nobiskrug and the British design studio Winch Design, this 83 m long superyacht is the first model in a range of steel exploration yachts with displacement hull.

It is on the idea of its Italian founder, Luca Bassani, that the Wally shipyard wanted to start building large steel exploration yachts. It therefore approached Nobiskrug, a specialist in the construction of steel megayachts. The German shipyard was responsible for the construction of the sailingyacht A ...which is the subject of much discussion.

Few details have leaked out, but here's what we can take away from this new 83-metre boat. Designed on a Nobiskrug platform, this exploration yacht will have sporty and aggressive lines with a sleek and futuristic design. This concept draws parallels with other iconic Wally designs. The lines are simple, with few superstructures.

There will be two 2x20m swimming pools on the main deck, while the rest of the deck will be bare to accommodate many activities: entertainment, meals, toy storage... The owner's cabin will be located on the upper deck, with its own private terrace overlooking the aft deck. The tender garage with a side opening on the starboard side will be positioned forward. The British studio Winch Design worked on the design of the interior layout.

Finally, as on the Wallypower 118 Galeocerdo, satellite technology will be integrated into the superstructure.

Wally doesn't stop there at the project level, as the luxury yard is overseeing the construction of two yachts: a 144-foot cruising yacht and a 93-foot cruiser race which will be launched at the end of the year.
