Les Grandes Voiles du Havre will take place from August 31 to September 3, 2017 in the city of Le Havre and will honour some thirty tall ships from 12 countries. As the finishing touch to the Tall Ships Regatta, it will also be an opportunity to celebrate ashore, for crews and tourists alike.

Visits to discover some of the world's largest sailing ships

Les Grandes Voiles du Havre is the only gathering of Tall Ships in France in 2017, which will meet in the port city at the arrival of the RDV2017 Tall Ships Regatta, organised by Sail Training International. Alongside the Le Havre heritage sailing ship, Marie-Fernand, will be present around thirty tall ships having participé? in the race (one or more regattas), other sailing ships that took part a few weeks earlier in the Tall Ships Races in the Baltic Sea such as Kruzenshtern or Morgenster, as well as guest ships such as the multi-mission frigate Aquitaine (French Navy ship), the Pen Duick fleet, or sailing ships from the traditional Normandy fleet.

Between 11 and 114 metres in length and coming from 12 countries including Brazil and Russia, these ships, built between 1894 and 204, will form an exceptional fleet.

Visitors will be able to visit, free of charge and without reservation, the deck of the largest ships (15 sailing ships accessible to the public: the Class A and Blue Clipper and Etoile sailing ships) as well as the multi-mission frigate Aquitaine (partial visit of the ship).

The ships will be moored in the Paul Vatine and Eure basins, in the heart of the Docks where, just a few decades ago, café? and cotton were unloaded.

Les Grandes Voiles du Havre will close with a large parade in front of the beach of Le Havre, Sunday, September 3, between 8:30 and 11:30 am.
