NASA materials for pleasure boots!

Shadow boot Henry Lloyd

Henry Lloyd launches a new pair of boots whose construction materials keep the foot warm. A great idea for winter sailing

When space technology becomes available for boating. That's what's happening on British manufacturer Henry Lloyd's new boot. The Shadow boot features "Outlast" technology that was originally developed by NASA to protect astronauts from temperature fluctuations in space. With this, the feet are protected from the cold and the heat is well distributed.

But this technological contribution does not hinder waterproofing (the primary purpose of a boot is not to keep the foot dry?), nor especially breathability. In fact, enclosed in a boot, if the foot doesn't breathe, it quickly becomes damp with perspiration. But a foot that is wet when cold..

Made of leather for the footwear part, this boot uses Cordura (a virtually indestructible material) to protect the ankles and calves. On the inside, a home-made Dri-Lex lining wicks perspiration away from the foot. For the sole part, grip with the deck is provided by a two-component sole with water dispersion channels.

The Shadow boot is available in grey and brown/carbon in sizes 36 to 47 at the recommended retail price of 269.00 euros
