Navicom RT850, a fixed VHF that integrates an AIS receiver

Navicom RT 850

A VHF black box available from Navicom which can also carry an AIS receiver. Ideal for small boats without a cabin.

Navicom distributes major brand name products, but also has a range of VHF radios manufactured under its own brand name according to its own specifications. The RT 850 is the latest model to be launched at the 2016 Nautic de Paris.

This is a fixed VHF "black box" type VHF. The VHF is installed in a hidden place on the boat and only the handset is accessible with a small screen. This is particularly useful on boats that do not have a cabin, as the handset is easily disconnected and can be stowed away from the water for safekeeping.

The RT 850 is a fixed VHF with a power of 25 W. It is a DSC VHF, i.e. with the possibility of calling on a digital channel for distress or to put in direct contact with other boats. This VHF is available in 3 models:

VHF RT 850 DSC

This is the basic model which includes all DSC functions and can connect to a NMEA0183 network.

Offered at the public price of 239 euros including tax

VHF RT 850 AIS

In addition to all the functions of the DSC model, this VHF has an AIS receiver. Signals from vessels encountered are displayed on the screen. This VHF also has TCPA and CPA collision alarms. An NMEA output redirects this information to a chart plotter or computer for display on a chart.

Offered at the public price of 379 euros including tax

VHF RT 850 N2K

Like the previous model, this VHF has an AIS receiver with a NMEA0183 output, but also has a NMEA 2000 network output. An interesting model for users who already have this type of network on board.

Offered at the public price of 399 euros including tax

In parallel to this range, Navicom has developed a GPS antenna for these VHF radios, which simply plugs into a single Plug&Play socket without the need for a complex multi-wire connection.

Accessory offered at the public price of 69 euros including tax

All this equipment visible on the Nautic de Paris 2016 will be available from the first quarter of 2017.
