The W6 is the smallest model in the Wimbi Boat which currently consists of the largest units, the W9 (9.20 m) and the W10 (10,80 m). The W5 and W7 will soon be added to the list of the brand's smaller units.
At Grand Pavois it was presented in an eco version, i.e. a simple, uncluttered unit, intended more for a sport fishing program.
As far as the layout is concerned, these are simple, but sufficient and practical. In the front, there is an area with plenty of storage space, which can be transformed into a seat or a square thanks to the removable table.
The central console is equipped with a seat facing the sea, mounted on 2 jacks, which contains a large storage box (under the console).
The 1 person leaning post (with storage under the seat) is protected by a windscreen. The cockpit has 3 neutral spaces to position the instruments of one's choice (as standard, the compass and the two rulers to store one's belongings). However, it should be noted that a seat for 2 people would have been more suitable for holding a conversation.
In the cockpit, there is a large bench seat with a seat facing the sea integrated into the leaning-post. With the removable table, we create a second dining area for 4 people. We appreciate being able to move this table on a unit of this size. Under the large bench seat, there is a large storage locker on a jack and a mini hatch for quick access. The two speakers for music are also located here.
A gelcoat hoop is also available to feel more protected when sailing (but less suitable for fishing) that will come over the aft saloon area.
Finally, a large bathing platform (relative to the size of the boat) is located on each side to facilitate access to the sea or fishing trips. There are standard rod holders, a folding swim ladder surrounded by 2 stainless steel hoops, 4 cleats (2 aft and 2 sides) ideal for mooring and a comfort version of synthetic teak over its entire surface.
The outboard motors are always offered as standard with a choice of color identical or complementary to the color of the Gelcoat (hull and deck), and branded with Wimbi Boats.
The W6 is only available as a single-engine outboard version with three engine versions:
- 1 X 115 HP Verado
- 1 x 150 HP Verado (recommended version)
- 1 x 200 HP Verado
The W6 is customizable in a variety of colors ranging from hull, Gelcoat deck to tires and upholstery and covers.
In December 2016, a "beaching" version will see the light of day with a roll bar, teak upholstery, more upscale upholstery.
The W6 is a versatile RIB, suitable for family trips, fishing with friends or more sporting activities such as wakeboarding or water skiing. It is proposed with a sport pack. It can also be used as a tender. Moving around on board is easy thanks to the wide side decks.
Its sea passage is excellent, the boat is stable and does not slap even in the chop. Like the previous models, it has a pronounced V-shaped hull, which combined with the boat's weight of 900 kg (thickness of materials) ensures a fairly smooth sea passage. With a cruising speed of 25 knots, the boat passes through the waves impeccably and responds quickly to changes in direction. It remains comfortable and safe, ideal for a family.
Its size of 6.50 m allows its owner a certain autonomy, who can winterize his boat himself. Finally, its "ready to sail" price of 31,916 euros HT with 115 HP is suitable for the tightest budgets.
