Batman's hydroplane becomes a luxury tender

Alpha-Centauri designs and manufactures luxury hydroplanes. Its latest achievement? The Batman tender! A toy that combines the capacity of a superyacht tender for four people and the speed of a racing speedboat.

The Alpha-Centauri is an 8.3m luxury hydroplane designed as a superyacht toy, a chase boat (auxiliary boat) or a fun alternative to the RIB. In short an ultra powerful luxury racing boat used as a superyacht toy or dinghy. It is propelled by a V8 9.3 L for a power of 500 to 2000 HP coupled with a jet propulsion which allows it to reach a speed of 60 knots. In terms of look, she looks strangely like Batman's boat, between the two floats and the black colour of the hull.

Its hull was designed using advanced calculations and fluid dynamics software. The result is a hull with a very low coefficient of drag and high stability. It is also easy to handle and has very good acceleration. The composite sandwich construction with a stainless steel frame provides high rigidity while making the boat light.

The engine was hand-built on the basis of a large engine block from a racing Chevrolet with compression ratios from 9:1 to 13:1. Supercharged engine options provide power in excess of 1000 hp. Jet propulsion is a derivative of systems that have performed in world speed championships.

The tender is equipped with Raymarine electronic instruments and a Rockford Fosgate audio system with two subwoofers. The roof can be opened remotely by lifting up, just like the cockpit of a fighter jet. Inside, there are four polyurethane or leather bucket seats as well as fabric upholstery in a colour of your choice.

An Alpha-Centauri prototype has recently seen the light of day, built by designer Chris Phillips in his spare time. It could be tested at sea, but in the harbour, so the speed is limited. A Kickstarter has been launched for industrial production, but does not seem to have found any contributors.
