360° pictures / Joshua, discover the interior of this mythical sailing boat

Bateaux.com offers you a 360° visit so that you can walk around this mythical sailing ship.

Joshua, a mythical boat on which Bernard Moitessier sailed, has a remarkable silhouette. Its red hull, its ketch rigging and its big "Joshua" written on the cockpit planking make it recognizable from afar. But have you ever gone inside, discovered the universe that rocked the 300 days of the long road of the sailor?

It is this immersion that we propose you today. With the 360° shot, you can discover the different spaces of this sailing boat. Because this boat is divided into three volumes.

Three volumes that were isolated during the "Long Road" around the world. Bernard Moitessier had at the time welded metal sheets to create a sort of watertight compartment.

At the back, accessible from the cockpit, there is a storage compartment in which the sailor stored all his spare equipment. In the center, still accessible from the cockpit, we find the living area. With the table of the saloon which was used as a chart table (the charts are stored inside), a kitchen on starboard and two beds.

The one on the port side is a double berth. Above the berths, many lockers closed by doors. Finally, the front area was used for the storage of sails. At the time, it was only accessible through the deck hatch.

Bernard Moitessier left many sketches representing his boat. Some of them are published in the book "La longue route" in the version published by Arthaud.

In the paperback edition, these sketches have disappeared. On these drawings, one can see that not much has changed on board. Of course, the galley has been equipped with a modern stove, the table in the saloon has grown a bit, the companionway is now made of wood and is less steep, but the general atmosphere is still there.
