125 superyachts over 30 m exhibited at the Monaco Yacht Show 2016

The 26th edition of the Monaco Yacht Show will take place from September 28 to October 1, 2016 in the Principality of Monaco, on the emblematic Port Hercule. 125 superyachts and megayachts will be on display, but also a whole range of tenders and toys. New this year, the Car Deck, to exhibit prestigious cars.

The superyachting mega-show will take place at the end of September 2016, with nearly 34,000 wealthy visitors expected to attend. Private owners, future yacht buyers and decision-makers from the largest yachting and luxury companies will be able to discover 125 of the year's most anticipated superyachts and megayachts, including Vanish, Galactica Supernova, Fast & Furious, Elixir, Ouranos and Element.

But yachts will not be the only attraction of the show, since it will also be an opportunity to discover the latest trends in naval design, technological gadgets or even accessories for nautical leisure (toys, tenders etc.).

The 2016 edition of MYS will cover 20,000 square meters of exhibition space and will once again feature 580 exhibiting companies and MYS partners, 125 superyachts, including some 40 new units unveiled for the first time in the world, and a selection of luxury tenders and other water sports and leisure accessories.

The living room of the ultra-rich

Today, 4,476 superyachts are sailing and 1,099 of them are available for sale according to the 2016 annual report by Camper & Nicholsons and Wealth X. A market that caters to a niche clientele, since today, potential yacht owners (i.e., those able to own a boat with an average value of $10 million) represent 0.003% of the world's population (211,955 people who fall into the UHNW category) and have a personal fortune exceeding 30 million euros.

A clientele that does not necessarily come from the yachting world, but also from the luxury car or private jet world. It is for this reason that charter companies or shipbuilders develop partnerships with these actors or companies managing this portfolio of wealthy customers so prized.

The Car Deck, luxury car exhibition

For several years, the major car brands have wanted to participate in the Monaco Yacht Show. It is in this sense that a brand new exhibition space dedicated to luxury cars will be launched: the Car Deck.

A dozen prestigious cars will be on display and available for purchase or test drive in the heart of the city.

A top-of-the-range welcome

Customers interested in renting or buying a superyacht will be able to take advantage of a personalized tour of MYS, the Sapphire Experience. This âeuro service, limited to 100 units, offers a high-end service to enjoy the show: an online concierge service will organize throughout the duration of the show the visits of superyachts, the reservation of trips in courtesy cars, or a table at the official restaurant of MYS.

Easy to move around the show

In order to facilitate the circulation between the different exhibition spaces installed on the entire Port Hercule, the transportation service has been improved. The network of maritime shuttles will connect the different quays on direct fixed lines, including a special line that will provide a transverse link between the Quai de l'Hirondelle and the Quai Antoine 1 er .

On the road, the âeuro golf carts put into service in 2015 âeuros will have new stops with more extended schedules. At the same time, networks of shuttle buses and courtesy cars will continue to provide rotations between Monaco hotels and the show. Finally, three helicopter lines will provide a link between Monaco and Nice airport or the business terminals of Cannes and Saint-Tropez.
