The X-Yachts shipyard took advantage of the cannes salon to launch its new range with the first model as its first model the X4 . In recent years, this Danish shipyard, which has distinguished itself from the competition by the quality of its construction, has launched 2 ranges:
- The performance range under the name XP which offers boats tailored for racing and sharpened for the gauge.
- The cruise range under the name of XC, which offers more comfort and living space.
The new range, which will simply be called X, should be an intermediary between the 2 existing ranges: having the performance of XP and the comfort of XC.
The X4 is 41 feet long. Its whistle-shaped deckhouse gives it a taut line. The comfort touch is underlined by the teak in the cockpit. But the notion of performance remains since this teak does not run on the decks and the boat is equipped with a carbon mast (optional). All windows on deck are flush (no protrusions).
As for the weight estimate, this X4 is a little heavier than an XP (it has the weight of an XP44). Here, the owner will not be looking for a favourable IRC rating. The hull is bulky at the front and a first for the yard is the adoption of bilges.
On the construction side, these hulls are still manufactured in epoxy infusion with the adoption of the traditional chassis which recovers all the forces between the mast and keel constraints. On the X4, to reduce costs, the chassis is made of steel (carbon on XP).
The X4 is available with 2 or 3 cabins and 1 or 2 bathrooms (4 possible versions). To successfully accommodate 3 cabins and 2 toilets, the site had to cross the toilets to access a rear cabin. This is the version we visited in Cannes and that we present to you in 360° panoramic. The light-coloured woodwork and angular design give this interior a very modern look. The many deck portholes with those of the deckhouse and hull bring a lot of light.
This X4 should reconnect with the customers who historically appreciate these yachts for their performance both in regattas and cruises. The X4 (followed by a 19.19 m X6) plays this card all the way, a card that has always been successful for the brand.
