Sunny Memories, the yacht inspired by "La Belle Epoque"

The designer Dennis Ingemansson has just designed the new superyacht project of the Oceanco shipyard. This 90 m long yacht named Sunny Memories owes its curved lines and undulations to the Belle Epoque and Art Nouveau period.

Sunny Memories is the new yacht project of Oceanco shipyard, designed by Dennis Ingemansson. To conceive this 90 m long yacht, the designer was inspired by the "Belle Époque" by using undulations and curves in his design. "Art Nouveau emerged during this era, characterized by optimism, regional peace, economic prosperity, and technological, scientific, and cultural innovations. This unique and broadly decorative art is distinguished by its motifs inspired by curved forms and nature, and that's what I wanted to represent: elegant and timeless exterior lines with classic and modern details." explained the designer.

To design the Sunny Memories, Dennis Ingemansson started with Oceanco's existing hull platform. Despite the yacht's generous dimensions, its lines were developed to give a visual impression of forward motion and speed. The central part of the yacht with the large black window cuts through the white superstructure, which not only airs out the design of the yacht, but also brings an effect of movement.

The interplay between empty and full spaces optimizes the large, sloping front windows (often full height), reducing the visual impact of the large volumes. The design of the aft area is low and sleek, and includes a beach club developed around a pool on the aft main deck. "Again, this design was inspired by the Belle Epoque investing building facades in late 19th century Paris and New York." says the designer.

The six double guest cabins are located on the main deck, with access to a spacious dining room and a lounge/discotheque that opens onto the pool deck with direct access to the sea. The upper deck is the owner's domain, where there is a spa on the foredeck, with panoramic views. The owner's suite is equipped with a double dressing room with bathroom, a private bar and a large TV room.

The owner's deck is visually connected to the deck below â?" which houses the owner's office, a gym and a massage room â?" by the large black window in the center of the boat. In addition to creating a beautiful graphic effect, this glazing also acts as a trompe-l'oeil by giving the impression that there are two levels, when in fact there is only one deck, and also brings a lot of natural light into the interior of the boat.
