Maritime Festivals of Brest 2016, the program is here!

Each day of the Fêtes Maritimes de Brest will have its share of animations. And each day, a guest country will be honored. It will also be an opportunity to discover the islands, the French Navy, the many traditional and historical boats or the many stands on the quays. Finally, in the evening, the show will be grandiose with fireworks, concerts and night parades.

Tuesday 12 July 2016, arrival of the boats

The boats will be welcomed from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the evening will be festive so that the crews can dive straight into the holiday atmosphere after a long trip.

Wednesday July 13, the islands open the ball

At 10 am, sirens and foghorns will announce the inauguration and the official opening of this 7 e edition of the Fêtes Maritimes de Brest . This first day of celebration will be dedicated to the islands and their many riches. This day will give birth to new maritime stories with the launching of the former lifeboat of Ouessant "Patrice François Morin." At nightfall, the first night parade will highlight the entire fleet of Brest.

Thursday, July 14, National Holiday

On this French National Day, the day will be dedicated to the coasts of France and the French Navy. Parade of sailboats of the French Navy and tugs, fireboats, maritime affairs and customs patrol boats, spectacular demonstration of oiling, sculling racesâ?¦ In the evening, the traditional fireworks of the French National Day will illuminate the port, the water and the riggings, a magical moment for the crews as well as for the public.

Friday, July 15, the Russians on deck!

Spotlight on the Russian village! Visitors who have already had the opportunity to experience the Fêtes Maritimes Internationales will still remember the parade of the mousses of the Sedov, the huge sail training ship that has already spread its sails over the Rade de Brest for several editions. The Russians will be back on the decks of Brest and we can expect great moments in their company. In the evening, the second night parade will take place, which will honor all the small boats of the festival.

Saturday, July 16, Portuguese style

It will be Portugal's turn to be honored. Thus, it will make us discover its maritime, gastronomic or cultural culture. The boats will also be honored, from the huge boats like the Santa Maria Manuela to the small traditional flotilla. At nightfall, the third night parade will put in light and sound the great parade of the sails of work.

Sunday July 17, the Netherlands between "Land and Sea

Sunday is shaping up to be a busy day and will be dedicated to both the unique maritime culture of our Dutch neighbors and the theme "Land and Sea." It will honor both the Netherlands, faithful to the Fêtes for 20 years, and all facets of agriculture and fishing in Brittany. The fourth and last night will parade the classic yachts and ocean racing vessels.

Monday 18 July, so british!

Great Britain will make the show at the Fêtes de Brest with many boats having crossed the Channel to reach Finistère. And, to conclude this intense week of festivities, see you at the final fireworks in the evening.
