Exclusive / Indiscretion, Dufour launches into the production of sailboats over 60 feet

Dufour Yachts launches into the production of large units

Dufour announces a 63 Exclusive. A top-of-the-range yacht on the borderline between mass production and custom.

The French shipyard in La Rochelle is embarking on a new adventure. She announces a 63-foot unit and opens the door to yachts. Still designed by Umberto Felci, the house architect, this sailboat is the first in a range called Exclusive.

Little information has yet been released on this project. But we can announce that the hull is being manufactured and that it will soon be in the early stages of development. It will be a keelboat with only one rudder. Let's bet that Felci, who is used to making a success of his hulls and especially to offering an incomparable steering touch, will also let his talent shine through in this 19.21 m sailboat.

On the line side, we can already discover on the first renderings, a sleek silhouette with a very short deckhouse and especially a band that harmoniously integrates the hull windows. A style took over from the world of the car that loves curved edges.

We will also note the roll bar to resume mainsail sheeting and facilitate the installation of a soft top or bimini. Nothing filters out the cockpit layout, but it is likely that the plancha installed on the transom of the other models will also find its place here.

These standard sailboats of more than 60 feet remain a market previously reserved for custom unit builders. Dufour is committed to this by drawing on the experience of its 560. The 63 Exclusive will be presented to the public at the next Düsseldorf show in January 2017. Further information will follow shortly to present in detail this courier, which should leave its mark on people's minds with some surprising innovations.
