Try your hand at sliding sports at the Sosh Freestyle Cup


The Sosh Freestyle Cup will be held from June 16th to 21st on the Borély beach in Marseille. Organized by two professional windsurfers, Benoit and Sylvain Moussilmani, this cult event of the Marseilles scene brings together many disciplines.

There are international competitions such as the Skateboard World Cup, but also exhibitions of alternative disciplines such as BMX or water sports like kitesurfing, windsurfing or stand-up paddle. Each year, more and more spectators come to discover alternative sports. Last year, there were 100,000 visitors.

In terms of athletes, 180 professionals will be present, including Matthias Dandois (Fra), Terry Adams (USA), Viki Gomez (Esp), Vincent Matheron (Fra), Charlotte Consorti (Fra), Marie Desandre-Navarre (Fra), Florian Daubos (Fra) or Chloé Bernard (Fra). 120 amateur athletes will also be present and in total, 18 nations will be presented in Marseille.

During 6 days, the Marseille beach of Borély will be the setting of numerous competitions and initiations. Visitors will also be able to enjoy an electro & house festival while trying out the many outdoor disciplines: Free Fall, Stand Up Paddle, Yoga, Stand Up Paddle Yoga, Polynesian Pirogue, Windsurf and Kitesurf.

Kitesurfing program

The Sosh Freestyle Pro-Am will be held from June 17 to 21 and will bring together an exceptional line-up of kitesurfers from around the world. Enthusiasts and amateurs will be able to compete against, among others, Sébastien Garat, Charlotte Consorti (triple world speed champion and record holder for speed on the water with 50.43 knots) or Marie Desandre Navarre. For this competition, 25 places will be reserved for the best French amateurs.

The exhibitions of 10 pro riders will take place on Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 June from 10 am to 5 pm.

The windsurfing program

The Windmeet Freestyle Tour is the flagship discipline of the Sosh Freestyle Cup and was introduced by the two organizers, the Moussilmani brothers. It is also a key discipline in the world of windsurfing and will therefore return to Borély beach, the ideal setting for this sensational practice. The cream of the French windsurfing world will be present, led by Adrien Bosson, Julien Mas, Nicolas Akgaciyan and Anthony Ruenes who will try to win this event which promises amazing figures.

At the end of the competition, the title of French Freestyle Windsurfing Champion will be awarded by the FFV.

Exhibition shows will be held from June 17 to June 21 and the competition will take place on Saturday June 20 and Sunday June 21.

The stand-up paddle program

The Mouss invite the public to come and learn for free the joys of paddling with coaches, but also to compete with the pros or to try SUP Yoga. On Saturday, June 20, the Pro-am Stand-up Paddle Contest will take place, bringing together stand-up paddle professionals and amateur paddlers for a mixed coastal race. Several courses will be proposed depending on the conditions. The start and finish will be on the Bonneveine beach in front of the village. Start from the beach, from 10 am in the form of a qualifying pool to access the super final at 12 pm, Saturday, June 20. On the program, the passage of 4 buoys before returning to the starting point as quickly as possible. The kitersurfers and windsurfers pros will also participate in this competition.
