Total units over 30 meters built
In 2014, shipyards around the world delivered 156 superyachts over 30 m, with a total length of 6,769 m, the equivalent of 60 soccer fields. The market recorded a 3% decrease compared to 2013, when 159 units were sold. This result is related to the fact that all yachts delivered in 2014 were sold during the financial crisis. The largest yacht delivered in 2014, Ocean Victory was built in the Italian shipyards of Fincantieri and is 140 meters long.
Global market leaders
A total of 76 shipyards in 20 countries have built these 156 superyachts. The market leader is Benetti with 13 deliveries, followed by Sunseeker and Sanlorenzo, which both delivered 11 units. Italy is the largest superyacht builder with a 40 percent market share. The Netherlands follows with 10% of the market.

Despite a drop in superyacht deliveries, new projects increased by 21.2 percent. Between January and December 2014, 181 new projects for yachts over 30 meters were registered. This represents a 13.8 percent increase over the 159 new projects in 2013.
