Seasmart - the removable textile pad-eye

Visitors who were a little curious about the Nautic de Paris were able to discover a new breed of deck hardware: the removable pad-eye. These very chic polished stainless steel parts were used on the Solenn 27 of the Franck Roy shipyard.

A pad-eye is a fixing point on the bridge. It allows you to install a pulley to send back a sheet or create a barber. These attachment points are normally permanently installed.

But what can you do when you want an elegant boat, on which simplicity is part of the design? The Italian company Seasmart - it bears its name well - offers to dismantle the pad-eye when you don't need it. Only one stainless steel - or brushed aluminium - circle remains on the deck, depending on the model.

Installation is done in no time at all by pressing the button in the centre of the pad-eye. Unlocking then 4 balls. A Dyneema loop is used to fix a pulley. On the Solenn 27, pad-eyes are installed to equip the geenaker pulleys.
