In order to improve the capacity of marinas and the services offered to boaters, the Ministry of Sustainable Development, in partnership with several institutions, federations and associations*, has created the national competition for exemplary marinas.

From 2009 to 2011, a call for projects for exemplary marinas was launched in partnership with the Federation of Nautical Industries. The goal was to allow ports âeuros in this case 30 port, river or maritime projects were selected âeuros to work to improve the reception capacities of boats and to fit into the environment. This program has enabled most of the local authorities concerned to complete their projects. The harbors that have carried out this work have also served as a reference for the evolution of marinas.

Today, in the continuity of the call for projects for exemplary marinas, the national competition for exemplary marinas constitutes a new step by proposing to improve the conditions of reception of boats and the services offered to boaters.

The objectives to achieve to be awarded

  • Promote exemplary and innovative practices in terms of environmental integration, sustainable development and the territory. Projects must explore emerging solutions in terms of port infrastructures or accessibility to the sea;
  • Encourage the emergence of new eco-responsible practices;
  • Meet the needs of recreational activities that do not require heavy infrastructure.

Applications must be submitted by the end of July 2015 and the first exemplary ports will be announced at the 2015 Nautic. A total of 5 projects will be awarded per year. To download the specifications of the competition, go to the website of the Ministry of Sustainable Development, heading boating.
