Igor Lobanov, architect and industrial designer tells how the STAR project was born " The initial idea of Star, belongs to Alex Malybaev, of the advertising studio FIRMA. After discussing the nautical world, we came to the conclusion that for an amateur, all boats look alike. It seems that modern architecture, product design and automotive design have no impact on yacht design. Malybaev drew a sketch on a napkin and asked me if a yacht could look like this. I looked at the drawing and immediately got to work. I loved the idea and tried to prove it was feasible."
Star was developed in collaboration with BMT Nigel Gee who was able to evaluate the feasibility and architectural realization of the boat. This private boat measures 132 meters long and 60 meters high. In the shape of a star, it is oversized: 2,347 m2 of interior space, eight decks, four lifts, a heliport and a capacity of 200 people a day. With a maximum speed of 18 knots, it is sold as a yacht or a private hotel and will cost 500 000 million dollars. Even if the shape of the boat is more like a triangle, the idea is that the boat is reflected in the water to create the star.
