A competition that returns to La Torche 20 years later
The Pointe de La Torche is a mythical place which made the beautiful hours of windsurfing in the eighties. In 1986, a windsurfing competition was organized in the middle of a storm and introduced the great names of surfing such as Robert Teriitehau, Robby Naishâeuros¦ The practice then became commonplace and experienced its first media coverage. Since then, no international competition had taken place in La Torche, so this will be the opportunity to give back its letters of nobility to the Bigouden territory.
From October 18th to 26th, the best riders in the world will meet on the mythical spot for a windsurfing world cup event. Organized by Aloha Organisation and the Cercle Nautique de Loctudy, the competition will see those who have already made a name for themselves confront each other, as well as newcomers who will discover this famous spot. The patrons of this edition will be none other than Robby Naish, multiple windsurfing world champion and Patrice Belbeoc'h, windsurfing world champion in 1996.
The program of the competition
On Saturday, October 18th the opening ceremony of the competition will give the start of the windsurfing world cup and the village will open its doors. From October 18 to 25, the men will compete in waves and slaloms and the women in slaloms. Finally, on Sunday, October 26, the legends of yesterday will close the competition with a Legends Trophy show and the closing ceremony will determine the winners of the competition.
A village to make the most of the event
So that all visitors can attend the show and enjoy the event, a village of animations and exhibitions will be installed at the Pointe de La Torche. Three universes are planned: a sliding space, a space for sea professions and a space for Brittany. In the animation area, games for children will welcome the youngest, a demonstration pool will attract the most curious without forgetting a food area for the most greedy and many other workshops.
