The Tour des Ports de la Manche started on Sunday 6 July

The Tour des Ports de la Manche, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, welcomed 99 crews to start the race in Granville. On board their sailboats, the competitors set sail for Jersey.

A rainy start this Sunday, destination Jersey

Saturday morning, under a rainy sky, the crews met in Granville to take the start of the regatta which took place on Sunday, July 7. It is thus at 11 a.m. that the 99 sailboats took off to start the two organized races. One for the "smaller" and the other for "bigger" . For this first stage to Jersey, it is the sailboat " Adapted Sailing Challenge "who won the race.

The regatta, The Channel Ports Tour is organized every year in July. This week-long race brings together yachtsmen and experienced sailors on 7 to 14 meter yachts, classified in five categories. The boats set off on a "unique" sailing basin from Granville to reach six different ports at each stage: Jersey, Guernsey, Barneville-Carteret, Port-Diélette, Cherbours-Octeville and the final stage, St Vaast-la-Hougue.

A regatta that celebrates its 30th anniversary this year

Created in 1984, the Tour des Ports de la Manche allows amateurs and experienced sailors alike to participate on a variety of boats. With a departure organized for ten years from the port of Granville, this federative event, organized by the city's Yacht Club, has allowed everyone to compete in a festive atmosphere. Many prestigious sponsors have helped popularize the event such as Charles Caudrelier, former winner of the Solitaire du Figaro, Claire Pruvot, sailor or Alexis Loison, winner of the first stage of the Solitaire in 2014.
