Visit of the Yacht Club de Monaco, a strange liner on the quay

On the occasion of the next edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, which will take place from September 28 to October 1, 2016, we present a unique space, dedicated to yachting, the Yacht Club de Monaco.

A flagship that lives up to its legend.

Inaugurated in June 2014 in front of more than 4,000 people, the new Monaco Yacht Club was designed by British architect Norman Foster, winner of hundreds of awards worldwide.

The evening honored the 1,300 members of 66 different nationalities. The men were dressed in the traditional costume of the " yachtsman "He wore a navy blue blazer over white pants. The president of the Yacht Club, none other than the sovereign Albert II of Monaco, arrived by boat to hoist the club's flag and induct 80 new members.

An unusual building to seduce the yachting world

It took six years to build this liner, which appears to stand on water. The 204-meter long, 22-meter high, six-story building is installed on the edge of the quay, built in a refined and elegant design. Large windows facing the port and the sea integrate it perfectly with the site. Exotic wooden terraces frame all floors and give the impression of walking on the decks of a moored ship.

This 5,000 square meter building, served by a spiral staircase, and with 4,000 square meters of terrace, supports Le Rocher's ambition to seduce the yacht market and the big money.

The interior design was entrusted to the French decorator Jacques Grange.
