A hybrid motor designed for compact sailboats

With the Outpod, Temo offers a compact, easy-to-install, electrically-rotating, lift-up motor system that doesn't drag under sail. The system combines a 500 W to 3 kW motor unit with pod-inspired mechanical integration, but with the ease of installation of an outboard.
Practical, durable design

The motor is mounted on a height-adjustable mast, which can be raised with a simple stroke of the halyard. This limits wear and tear, prevents soiling and reduces the risk of electrolysis when moored. The system can be easily dismantled thanks to an external mounting rail. Its 180-degree rotation facilitates maneuvering and allows regeneration under sail.
Simplicity for boatyards and yachtsmen
Designed for small sailboats up to 9 meters in length, the Outpod is aimed at builders and end-users alike. It can be installed on a new boat or a refit, without any hull drilling. It saves space on board, and offers a robust, low-maintenance and silent solution.
The system operates with a 2.3 kWh Temo cassette battery on an autoconnect rack or a stationary battery. The direct-drive motor is sealed and designed to reduce energy losses and maintenance requirements.

The Outpod is the latest addition to the Temo range, which already includes outboard motors, pods and outpods, from 450 W to 6 kW. Manufactured in France, these thrusters benefit from a three-year warranty and a local technical support network.
Alexandre Seux, co-founder of Temo, explains: "The Outpod is the mechanical integration that was missing in the equipment of small sailboats"
A well-deserved prize for a well-targeted innovation, which should find its way into the hands of builders and boaters alike, who appreciate silence, efficiency and ease of use.
