The Ligue de Voile Occitanie is proposing a new formula for the Occitania Cup, from September 26 to 28, 2025, with a program designed to encourage openness to all sailor profiles. Alongside the classic formats, the event incorporates technical innovations and concrete environmental commitments.
A diversified offering for houseboats and cruisers
The 2025 edition features an expanded race program, including :
- a Grade 3 amateur regatta, the only one of its kind in Occitanie ;
- technical courses for one-designs ;
- long-distance solo, duo or crew formats (100 to 125 nautical miles);
- a cruiser regatta on coastal courses.
These formats respond to a growing diversity of practices on Mediterranean coasts.
Integration of disabled sailing on sport keelboats
Another notable development is the creation of a specific disabled round, open to all racers on adapted sports keelboats. This initiative aims to create a mixed competitive area, while meeting the safety and accessibility standards imposed by the federations. It marks a structuring step for disabled sailing in regional regattas.
Stable landmarks for racers: geostationary buoys and SARs
To guarantee optimum tracking of the courses, the organizers introduced the use of geostationary buoys, inspired by the devices used at the Marseilles Olympic Games. This choice improves the precision of the technical courses and reduces logistical constraints.
The 2025 edition has also been awarded the RSO (Responsabilité sociétale des organisateurs) label by the FFVoile, with concrete actions such as the elimination of single-use plastics and raising awareness of posidonia protection via the Nav&Co application.
A unifying event for clubs and their crews
The League is calling on clubs in Occitania, from the Côte Vermeille to the Rhone delta, to get involved. The opening evening (Friday, September 26, 2025) and the crew's evening (Saturday, September 27, 2025) will be a time for exchanges with those involved in protecting marine areas, over a shared meal at the regional port.
